Another Successful Year of ‘Baby Café’ at Markham Chabad
Baby Café, the highly innovative and trendy baby feeder to Torah Tots Preschool of Chabad Markham, Ontario, has concluded another highly successful year. Over 20 babies and their parents attended this exciting and stimulating program.
Torah Tots is entering its 30th year of quality preschool education. It is a flagship and internationally acclaimed pioneering preschool for Chabad preschools around the world.
Moms, Dads, Bubbie’s and Zaidy’s enjoyed Friday mornings with their young ones. Exploring and celebrating their Judaism through music, instruments, puppets, crafts, bubbles and baking.
Activities such as bubble wrap hopping, challah baking, family tree art, feet painting and creating their own Torahs were just a few of the weekly sensory activities offered to the babies. Edible painting, strawberry smelling rice, chocolate pudding art and aleph bet cookies were some of the originals and the most popular of the great activities.
Lectures and discussions on “Raising Spiritual Children”, “The Five Love Languages in Marriage”, “Creating a Jewish Home” and “Celebrating our Holidays” were part and parcel of Baby Café mornings.
This was a Mommy and Me program with a twist – educating the parents through the children.
“Baby Café was the highlight of our week, not just for my child but for myself as well,” said Amanda Hecht, mom of 12-month-old Matthew.
“We grew so much during this year…emotionally, cognitively and spiritually…this program was so engaging and made it possible for moms to meet other moms. The activities were so stimulating with activities that moms would never dream of on their own,” said Melissa Tayar, mom of 15-month-old Sadie.
“Baby Café will resume their activities in the new school year offering more dynamic programs for babies and children of all ages,” said Goldie Plotkin, Pre-school director.
