Magnificent Renovation of Brunoy Yeshiva Building Complete
In days gone by this magnificent building in the forests near Paris served as a getaway chateau for the family of King Louis XVI of France. Since the years following WWII, it served as the main building of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch, located now in the Parisian suburb of Brunoy.
The building was first purchased by the Joint Jewish Committee after World War II, who in turn gave it to Rabbi Binyomin Gorodetzky for the sake of erecting the first Chabad Yeshiva in Europe since the end of the war.
The Yeshiva’s main building, which was shuttered several years ago due to severe safety hazards, was completely renovated thanks to the generosity of philanthropist Gennady Bogolubov. The renovation took a few years and cost several million euros.
A dedication ceremony for the building, with the participation of many guests from around the world and the over 300 students of the Yeshiva, will take place in the near future.
