Picture of the Day: Dvar Malchus on Obama’s Table

In this photo, captured by White House photographer Peter Souza, Jewish leaders meet with President Obama to discuss various issues concerning the Jewish community in the U.S. and the security of Israel. Rabbi Levi Shemtov, director of American Friends of Lubavitch in Washington, D.C., sits across from the President with a leather bound edition of the ‘Dvar Malchus’ on the table in front of him.

kudos to levi shemtov for being a mentch and NOT LOOKING TO BE POLITICALLY CORRECT and wearing a hat to meet the pres. If you look at old pics of the pres with the shluchim they dont always wear a hat to be politically corret. LIKE THE SHEMTOVS OR NOT KOL HAKAVOD TO LEVI

  • Black Hat

What’s the big deal about him wearing the hat. It doesn’t help anyone or anything and accomplishes nothing. But if it makes the rabbi feel good about himself, so be it.

For the record – Obama probably didn’t notice – he’s got bigger things to keep track of than what some Rabbi wore.

    Just saying…

I didn’t know you are allowed to bring divrey kdusha in Obama’s office.

  • Can-t Buy Gd

Obama thinks by having the Jews, he will gain the favor of Gd. You have to live for Gd before you can enjoy the favor of Gd! It won’t be happening!

  • Silly!

Forgive my sense of humor but every time I see a Chassidic Rabbi with their hat, I cannot help but wonder if they are the origin of the idea for the cat in the hat!
