Boys Complete Entire Seder Mo’ed at Yeshivas Erev
Yeshivas Erev of Crown Heights runs a project for the study of Mishnayos called Mishnas Gavriel, named after Rabbi Gavriel Noach and Rivka Holtzberg, HYD. The program is arranged by the Igud Menahlei Yeshivos.
Boys from all Crown Heights Yeshivos meet each evening for an hour of study. There are three levels, corresponding to grades 5, 6 and 7. The boys study Mishnayos Seder Moed every evening. The talmidim are tested in writing after each two chapters, and receive a monetary deposit into their G’mach Gavriel Account.
The goal is for a talmid to complete an entire “Seder” of Mishnayos around the time of his Bar Mitzvah.
A Siyum of the entire Seder Moed [over 681 Mishnayos] was celebrated on Sunday, 13 Sivan, 5772, in Oholei Torah. Eleven boys knew every single Mishna in the Seder.
The program was emceed by Rabbi Hershel Lustig of Oholei Torah. The Siyum and Hadran were said by seventh grader Mendel Zweibel. Rabbi Nachman Holtzberg, father of Gavriel, OBM, lauded the great accomplishment of the boys.
A fleishig seudah was served.
All left inspired to learn, and perhaps complete the entire Mishnayos.
