After-Finals Farbrengen at College Chabad Club

On Thursday evening a group of students from Brooklyn College and other colleges got together and had an “Epic After-Finals Farbrengen,” as the students called it. The farbrengen was put together by the Chabad Club of Brooklyn College to celebrate the end of the semester and the beginning of the Summer break.

Joining the group were two very special guests: Rabbi Levke Kaplan (Director of JTVS, and Torah Cafe) and Rabbi Reuven Boshnack (JLIC Educator at Brooklyn College).

Rabbi Kaplan pointed out that not only is this day a special day for CUNY Students, since they have finished their finals, but it’s a special and historical day for Chabad as well.

That very day marked the completion of the first section of the Tanya – Another great reason to farbreng. Boys and Girls of CUNY (City University of New York – Brooklyn College, Hunter, Baruch and Kingsborough) gathered together and were truly inspired by the wonderful words of Rabbi Kaplan.

“It was a really well put together Farbrengen, and 100% perfect for College Students!” enthusiatcly said Avromi Gorokhov, The upcoming President of The Chabad Club of Brooklyn College. “And what a perfect way to end off and say farewell to the Spring 2012 semester…truly EPIC;” “Can’t wait to keep the wheels turning here at Brooklyn College and working together with such amazing people on board!”

This campus chabad has so much potential. As the mother of a Crown Heights girl who attends Brooklyn College, I would love Chabad to have some of their events geared to frum from birth students!! The FFB Crown Heights Brookyn College students also are in need of Chabad on Campus’s warmth, encouragement and learning now that they are in a secular environment…..

Chabad on Campus offers shiurim for any crowd, whether its Frum From Birth, or secular Jews, Chabad is all about bringing yiddishkeit to each and every Jew. You cant make an event for ONE type of Jews, thats not what Chabad is all about. It’s about bringing jews together from all sorts of levels in terms of observance, and backgrounds. Every Jew is ONE, and you can’t have an event for ONE type.

Theres plenty of FFB Jews in Brooklyn College, not many of them show up to the shiurim and events.
For instance, theres Moshiach Shiurim, Sichos Shiurim, and Tanya Shiurim….and the FFB students already feel that they know this stuff, so it doesn’t interest them.

If you take a look at these photos you see that there are Frum jews, and secular jews. It’s all about bringing all types of jews together and teaching them something new, and bringing a warm feeling of achdus, and togetherness.

If your daughter goes to Brooklyn College theres a bunch of Frum From Birth All-Girls events that L.I.N.K Club.
