Trip Cut Short, Chief Rabbi Makes Early Visit to the Ohel

While an airplane waited on the tarmac at JFK airport to take him back to the Holy Land, Israeli Chief Rabbi Dovid Lau paid a visit to the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s Ohel tonight, a visit he was expecting to make tomorrow, on the 20th Anniversary of Gimmel Tammuz.

Rabbi Lau had only arrived in New York yesterday morning, but his trip was cut short when news of the discovery of the bodies of the three missing Israeli teenagers shocked the Jewish world. Rabbi Lau was compelled to rush on the first available flight back to Israel so that he can be present at the teens’ funeral.

Rabbi Lau was accompanied on his visit to the Ohel by Shliach to Thailand Rabbi Nechemia Wilhelm and Editor-in-Chief of ‘Hamevaser’ Rabbi Binyomin Lipkin.
