Young-Yeshivah Celebrates Year of Success
Tonight, over 130 young men and women from Melbourne’s ‘Young-Yeshivah’ community gathered for a Melava-Malka – a first-anniversary celebration of gratitude and support.
Young-Yeshivah is a satellite community of Melbourne’s Yeshivah Centre, and caters to Jewish singles, couples and families ranging from the not-yet-twenties through the past-thirties.
The event was opened by the evening’s master-of-ceremonies, Avraham Adelist, who thanked the founders and current committee members for all their hard work. Rabbi Shmuel Lesches spoke of the Rebbe’s faith in the youth – their dynamism, their idealism, and their energy – as well as his constant encouragement to grow continuously and never be satisfied with one’s achievements. Other speakers included Ilan Kedem and Dan Gordon, who described their wonderful experiences as Young-Yeshivah members.
The first year was replete with so many activities, including Shabbos and Yom Tov Minyanim, Shiurim, women’s and men’s events, family gatherings and so much more. A video presentation produced by Mel Adelist beautifully portrayed many of these highlights.
‘Grammen’ sung by Josh Wonder and Leible Sziewicz provided a light note for the event, and participants thoroughly enjoyed the musical interludes, as well as the sumptuous Milchig feast catered by Unger’s.
Young-Yeshivah thanks Rabbi Telsner and the committee of Yeshivah-Shule for their continued support. Young-Yeshivah also thanks its committee members for all their hard work and dedication: Avraham Adelist, Joel Goldhirsh, Leible Sziewicz, Ari Bendet, Effie Manshari, Alon Hammerschmidt, Avigail Wonder, Leah Wolf and Kate Friedman.
