Smicha Study Comes to Life in Morristown
After months of learning the intricate Halachos of koshering meat, the bochurim of the Morristown Smicha program, headed by Rabbi Chaim Schapiro and Rabbi Avraham Hirsh Levin, were privileged to have a hands-on demonstration by Rabbi Yaacov Mendel Zirkind, a local Shochet.
Rabbi Zirkind showed the bochurim present all the internal organs of a sheep, giving a detailed presentation of all the kosher and non-kosher parts of the animal, as well as the soaking and salting process by which the meat is made Kosher.
Rabbinical College of America is under the leadership of Rabbi Moshe Herson, head Shliach to the state of New Jersey.
