Children Find Six Stolen Torah Scrolls in Cave

Shturem

The six Torah scrolls that were recently stolen from the Tzemach Tzedek shul in the old city of Tzfas were found today by three children in an abandoned cave in the city.

The children ran to the Chabad House run by Rabbi Gavriel Marzel and informed him of their discovery. Rabbi Marzel – and a contingency of municipal police – rushed over to the site.

When they arrived, they found the Torahs piled on the floor but not damaged. They thanked Hashem for the happy ending to a devastating story.

Shturem.net obtained a video of the Shliach and others rushing to the cave, you can view it by clicking here.

Rabbi Marzel is especially dedicated to spreading Yiddishkeit and Chassidish simcha to the children of all segments of the Tzfas community. It is very fitting that children were the ones who found the sifrei Torah and that all is well again.

Looks like the ganovim were afraid of being caught after all the publicity, so they gave up and hid the sifrei Torah where they knew they could easily be found.

Mazal Tov! Mazal Tov! A day of much simcha for all of klal Yisroel, and particularly for Eretz Yisroel and the Holy City of Tzfat!

Likewise, the state of Hester of Mashiach Tzidkeinu should become beGilui and we should be redeemed, bekarov umiyad mamash!!

The tall blond boy was recently orphaned of his mother just before Pesach. Surely her pure neshama guided him to this important discovery. The Rabbi should be sure to contact the father in Tsfat, Dovid Ravitch, if there is reward money. The family needs support at this difficult time.

Correction – the Sifrei Torah were found in an abandonded house where the children were scouting out to find a place to make a bunkhouse. They will be commended by the police for good citizenship. Haven’t heard of a monetary reward (this is Israel, don’t forget)
