Two Jewish Men Attacked, Seriously Injured in France

Two Jewish brothers wearing yarmulkas were attacked near a synagogue in the Paris area on Motzei Shabbos. The assault came hours after a deadly shooting spree that left four dead at the Jewish Museum in Brussels.

The young men were attacked by two Muslims near the synagogue in Creteil, a southeast Paris suburb. One of them was severely injured after being struck in the eye with brass knuckles, and is expected to remain hospitalized for 10 days.

Rabbi Chaim Melul, a Chabad Shliach in the area, told Shturem.net that the two brothers were familiar faces at the local synagogue, and had attended a summer camp he organized.

French President Francois Hollande offered his solidarity to neighboring Belgium, and vowed that the perpetrators of the Creteil attack would be caught.
