Miami Students Put L’chatchila Ariber into Practice
Bais Iyar takes on a new practical meaning for the students of the Lubavitch Educational Center in Miami. Students came to school wondering what a huge truck and crane were there for, only to witness the transformation of the beautiful school grounds to an all our rock climbing – palm tree extravaganza.
In the spirit of Lchatchila Ariber, Going above, beyond, and over, students were treated to a hands on experience by attempting to climb atop the first ever ‘Palm Tree Climb’.
Students able to participate were oens who have expressed a strong spirit of Lchatchila Ariber each and every day by fulfilling their Tzivos Hashem missions and reaching certain medal ranks according to grade level. Between 1st – 6th grade a total of 120 plus students were treated to a day out in the sun. Captains and Majors were permitted to go on several times as a result of their extra special achievements.
All in all no one went home empty handed, as each and every student registered in Tzivos Hashem in the school was rewarded with a jump rope to continue the message “to Jump and reach for the moon, because even if you miss, you’ll end up with the stars…”
The spirit carried to an end of the day assembly, where students continued their multi pronged Ahavas Yisroel campaign. It began the kick off of brand new aspect and facet to the program. It consists of 4 days a week 15 minute mini farbgrengen on scenarios of Ahavas Yisroel. What better way to create a true Avir of Ahava is there, than by teaching it. Mrs. Shevi Sossonko and Rabbi Yakov Garfinkel have teamed up to create an incentivized curriculum where students will be excited and inspired to learn the ins and outs of being a true Mentch. Students will earn coupons for in class and especially out of class participation and be able to enter them into an end of the year Chinese auction. This program is done in the spirit of Chabad, which does not focus solely on the suppressing the symptoms of Loshon Hara, or Rechilus, we are focusing on the actual issue which is learning, creating and cultivating the Ahavas Yisroel of each child which once kindled leaves no place for negative actions towards a fellow.
The day capped off with handing out all Tzivos Hashem auction prize winners and awarding L.E.C.’s very own grand prize from our very own store, to Mendy Rubinstein of fourth grade.

Nice to see the kids harnessed, but shouldn’t they wear helmets anyway?
