Shluchim Flee Crimea as Russian Army Invades

As the city of Simferopol filled with chaos, Russian soldiers and tanks taking control of the government buildings, airports and streets of Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula, the Shluchim in the city had no choice but to flee their home for the relative safety of Donetsk on Ukraine’s mainland.

The Shluchim, Rabbi Yitzchok Meyer and Mrs. Leah-Mindle Lipszyc, have temporarily moved the Shul to their home, where community members will be conducting services without them. For everyone’s safety, they were advised to hire armed guards for their home and the city’s main synagogue.

The Shluchim are also working feverishly on getting a basic kosher food supplies for their community, as all of Crimea’s kosher food comes from mainland Ukraine, which has practically been cut off from Crimea due to the Russian occupation.

The Shluchim have requested from their Jewish brethren worldwide and family of Chassidim to say a Kapital tehilim, daven and take upon themselves an extra Mitvza for the zchus of their community.
