LA Diamond Daveners Enjoy 24 Hours of Purim Fun
Starting with an extravaganza like no other, the Lubavitch Children of LA joined together for the performance of world-famous ventriloquist Chuck Field, who had the children literally rolling on the floor with laughter.
The extravagant evening also included Purim parrot tricks and a costume contest, where every child had his/her chance to parade down the red carpet in front of the three judges and show off their originality.
A variety of different costumes were displayed: Lego mentchies, Rachel imeinu, Dr. Seuss’ “things,” pirates, cupcakes, bakers, chefs, queen Esthers, Yossie and Leibel, Mordechais, washing machines and more.
Everyone was a winner, but three special costumes were mentioned for “creativity,” “toichen” and “talent/confidence.”
Of course, the evening ended with a children’s rally – the 12 psukim, tzedaka and booming loud niggunim like “vayehi bimey achashveirosh…”
The next morning, a Diamond Daveners convertible was seen driving around town, Jewish music blaring and clowns and streamers blowing in the wind, as special DD honorable mentions took turns getting a ride and delivering mishloach manos. The car added so much simcha to the streets, getting passersby to jump up and start dancing!
A horse and buggy, the ”Mordechai mobile,“ took LA by storm as the horse paraded through the streets prancing ”thus shall be done to the man whom the king wishes to honor!” Rides for the children, mishloach manos deliveries and matanos le’evyonim hand outs created the perfect Purim atmosphere.
What an incredible 24 hours!

It’s so refreshing to see the extra effort that is being put into our very own Lubavitcher children. Kudos to the organizers of this wonderfully and meaningfully institution.
There is no question this will also help these youngsters grow up knowing what simcha and achdus is all about …. LA …..keep it up ……
