Letter from Rov Results in a 25% Increase in Sales
A letter released by Rabbi Mordechai Shmuel Askenazi, the Rov of Kfar Chabad, two months ago has resulted in a 25% increase in purchases of DVDs.
The letter stated that:
“I wish to address the great importance of setting specific aside times to watch videos of the Rebbe. The benefit it provides, in general – and in particular, to the Chasidishe atmosphere in the home, cannot be emphasized enough.
This is especially relevant to our children who did not merit to see the Rebbe in person. In the Hayom Yom the Rebbe states: “The gesture of a Tzaddik, and even more so, gazing upon him or hearing his voice, must achieve an impact that will never be forgotten.”(14 Teves)
I was overjoyed to hear that Rebbe’s Sichoson Living Torah will now be accompanied by a children’s narration in Hebrew. This is an opportunity for the family as a whole to join and strengthen this practice, and to permeate the entire home, connecting with the Rebbe by being actually able to see him.
Many have asked, and I have told them: Maaser monies may be used for this purpose.
I conclude with the very words of the Rebbe on the importance of gazing upon visions of a Rebbe:
“There are those who were never in the Rebbe’s presence…who are now able to connect… One of the methods is by picturing the Rebbe. Those who merited aYechidusshould picture the image of the Rebbe as he was during the Yechidus. And those who never saw the Rebbe should imagine his countenance through the means of a photo.
Picturing the Rebbe is, in a way, like seeing him – it has a certain advantage even beyond studying his Torah, in the same way thatseeing a person is greater than hearing them. Concentrating upon the image of the Rebbe will enhance one’sunderstanding and awareness, even if until now this was not the case. (Hisvaaduyos 5710, p. 50-51).”
