Montreal Students Enjoy Exciting Trip to New York

The 7th and 8th Grade students of Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Montreal who are part of the Chayolei Beis Dovid Program, headed by Rabbi Yisroel Menkes, traveled to New York for Yud Shvat.

The trip left from in front of Yeshiva at about 11:00 PM by charter bus, and they had a smooth and quiet trip to the Ohel, where they arrived at about 6:00 AM. Mikva was followed by a half hour shiur chassidus delivered by Rabbi Vaisfiche, Panim and visit to the Ohel. After a quick breakfast of cereal and milk, the boys again boarded the bus for the trip to Crown Heights and shacharis in the Rebbe’s room.

After shacharis, the boys had some free time to visit family and shop on Kingston Ave.

Mincha was at 1:00 PM in 770, after which they went via subway to lower Manhattan and boarded the Staten Island Ferry. The return trip, which took about an hour, afforded amazing views of the Manhattan skyline, Statue of Liberty and other landmarks.

Upon arriving back in Manhattan, the boys went to tour the site of Ground Zero, where they took in the view of the new Freedom Tower, currently under construction, and the pool/waterfall at the footprint of the Twin Towers, where they said some Mishnayos.

Return to Crown Heights was at 5:00 PM, whereupon the boys went to Getzel’s Shul and learnt the mishnayos of the oisiyos of the Frierdiker Rebbe’s name. Rabbi Vaisfiche then shared some of his memories of Yud Shevat in the early ’90s.

At 7:00 PM, the boys went to Maariv in the Rebbe’s house, after which they returned to Getzel’s shul for a delicious dinner of salami sandwiches, followed by a very enjoyable farbrengen with Rabbi Velvel Butman from Chabad of Westchester.

At about 11:00 PM, the bus left from Kingston for a very peaceful return trip to Montreal, for a very tired group of chayolim.

Special thanks to Rabbi Yisroel Menkes and Rabbi Vaisfiche for all their hard work in making this a great event in all ways.

    Proud of you Sruli!

Dont let any one criticize, I wonder if any of them had a positive impact on the local young bochurim in their respective towns!

    Keep up the good work!!!

As for the people who commented in a negative tone 1)The boys took a tour of Groud Zero which we all know was a churban right here in our country and killed plenty yidden (r’l). They did not go to sit in Times Square.
    2) There is nothing wrong with giving the boys an insentive to keep up the learning and the good work, speak to any mechanech!
