Photos: Siyum and Hachnosas Sefer Torah in Lod

On Monday, the family of Rabbi Shmuel Gurewitz, OBM, of Shikun Chabad, Lod, commemorated his first yohrtzeit with a Siyum and Hachnosas Sefer Torah, dedicated in his, as well as his wife Esther‘s, memory.

The final letters were inscribed at the Gurewitz home, with the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of the Gurewitz, Teichtel, Chanzin, Tzivin and Chazan families, along with friends, neighbors and members of Anash.

The Torah was then welcomed into the Chabad Center of Ganei Aviv with the traditional tahalucha and hakofos. The entire event was emceed by Rabbi Avraham Chazan, son-in-law of Rabbi Gurewitz and the Rebbe’s Shliach to Ganei Aviv. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gurewitz, Mashpia of Yeshiva Ohr Simcha, spoke on behalf of the family.

Heading the list of prominent Shluchim, Mashpiim, Rabbonim and Anash was Rabbi Leibel Groner, Chaver Mazkirus of the Rebbe, who is a nephew of R’ Shmuel.
