Home Depot Hosts Friendship Circle Menorah Workshop
Yesterday, November 10, the Friendship Circle’s Menorah Building Workshop at The Home Depot was filled to capacity, with over 100 in attendance.
The Home Depot on Dekalb Ave. in Williamsburg closed off their Home Furnishings section to host this event, and truly outdid themselves by decorating the area with Chanukah themed decorations.
Every child received their very own work apron and proceeded to take their seats on upside down work buckets; they then rolled up their sleeves and got to work putting together their Menorah. Once complete, the crew proceeded to get their projects spray painted in the color of their choice.
While the Menorahs dried, the hard working children and adults were treated to Jelly donuts, chocolate Chanukah gelt, drinks and treats. The 12 Pesukim were recited, followed by traditional Chanukah songs.
The day’s success was due to the hard work and dedication of the Friendship Circle volunteers, and the staff and crew of the Home Depot – headed by Ms. Veronica D. J. Dockery.
