Warm Quilts Help Needy Israelis Fight Winter Cold

Volunteers with Yad B’Yad unload blankets for distribution.

Despite a year of decreasing donations to social welfare organizations across Israel, needy children will not be going to be bed cold this winter thanks to several charities, including the Yad B’Yad organization run by Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Yaakov Gloiberman.

According to a report by Channel One social affairs correspondent Roy Katz, Yad B’Yad will distribute thousands blankets to needy families through welfare departments and Chabad Houses throughout the country.

“Despite the decrease in donations to associations and organizations, Yad B’Yad will distribute 25,000 warm quilts to needy children,” reports Katz, who goes on to quote Gloiberman as thanking the many people who continue to “contribute throughout the year to the needy.”
