Oxford Society Welcomes New Israeli Ambassador

Daniel Taub, Israel’s ambassador to the UK.

Oxford University’s Chabad Society welcomed Israeli diplomat Daniel Taub, the new ambassador to the Court of S. James, for a congratulatory reception following a lecture organized by the Oxford Jewish Congregation.

The reception at the Oxford Jewish Centre, which was attended by close to 100 students and community members, came a week before the Oxford-educated Taub submitted his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II.

Rabbi Eli Brackman, director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Oxford, called it honor to be able to host the new ambassador, especially given his organization’s longstanding concern for the wellbeing and security of Israel.

Oleg Giberstein, student president of the Chabad Society, welcomed the ambassador and wished him well on reaching out to British society in representing Israel.

The British-born Taub previously served as the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s deputy legal counsel and was a regular spokesman for the Israeli government.
