Chabad Rabbi Arrested for Controversial Remarks

Rabbi Dovid Meir Druckman

Kiryat Motzkin Chief Rabbi Dovid Meir Druckman was questioned by police in connection to statements released by him following the terrorist attack in Merkaz HaRav yeshiva. He shared this experience with Arutz-7 Hebrew News.

The rabbi explained at the core of police concerns are statements that followed the massacre in Merkaz HaRav in 2008, in which he and other rabbonim publically condemned employing Arabs.

The rav explained that in principle he is not cooperating with investigators, explaining that when they question former Mossad Intelligence Agency Director Ephraim Halevy for his derogatory remarks against the chareidi tzibur. He questions why members of the academic community are not questioned, those who incite constantly against Jews and the state, but police only question rabbonim.

Rabbi Druckman stated he will not cooperate with police in this matter, and prior to releasing him, when asked “would you like to comment or say something?” he told Arutz-7 that he stated, “We are all waiting for the redemption and moshiach”.

watch what you say (LOL) because when you go to Israel the next time, maybe they will question you too. HaShem yerachem. Give koach and hatzlacha to all the shluchim but really alot to those in eretz yisroel, to help these people understand emes.

  • Free Speech

What ever happened to free speech in Israel. It sounds more like what we would expect in Iran or Syria.

to#4 if you for ex. open tikun shvues in Israel and simple read in public tar’yag mitzvot you will have much mo problem ! but you can put natzi signs, and natzi pictures, and left wing and half of israel will be proud in such democrat

  • Naye Yevesktzia

    No more Yevsektzia in Russia.

But there is one in Eretz Yisroel (indeed, there is. the ShaBaK has a special “Jewish Department” to deal with those who stand up for Jewish rights to the Land of Israel, as well as those who stand up for halacha).

  • No-Brainer

The Rabbi’s comments bother the malchus ha’risha more than the terrorist attack; they’d rather see more attacks R”L than bias against Arabs! If it’s sakanas nefashos to hire Arab workers than it’s a no-brainer not to hire them! You don’t need a Rabbi to tell you that, anyone with a brain in their head can understand it on their own!
