For the first time in English, a booklet of the Rebbe’s teachings on Education, was published. The 60 color pages of Advice for Life: Education is a compilation of the Rebbe’s direction on parenting, education and teaching. Many of the teachings are being published for the first time.

The booklet, published by Lubavitch Archives, covers such topics as: What did the Rebbe see as the foundation of parenting and educating our children? What should we do about violence? What is Jewish education all about? How to influence your child? What are the conditions to be a teacher? Can a school expel a child? Should parents’ home-school their kids?

The quotes are accompanied by firsthand stories of how the Rebbe stressed the importance of education. They include stories based on interviews with Professor Shlomo Eckstein, former president of Bar Ilan University; Herbert Weiner, author of 9 and a 1/2 Mystics; Professor Mel Alexenberg, former professor of Art Colombia University; and others.

“This booklet is about education,” writes Rabbi Dovid Zaklikowski in the introduction, “in the school, at home, and via lifelong learning. It is about how we can make an essential difference in the lives of our children, students, and everyone with whom we come in contact, branching out to all of humanity.”
