MBD gave an interview where he said b/c of pirating he will not be releasing any albums after this one But he will still sing – in other words he is not retiring

I have listened to this CD – he should have retired from releasing albums and saved himself the bother – I am not impressed. Chabad Nigunim – he doesnt sing them nicely and most of the CD he sings together with the Choir so his voice is not heard!

  • Nice Job

Well done MBD! The chabad niggunim sound Very Nice! I especially like the twist on the tzemach tzedek song which is usually sung slowly. very hartzig. Anyone who appreciates music will enjoy it. I really don’t understand the negative comments posted here. There’s nothing wrong with him singing the songs even though they’ve been sung by others! (most of the jewish music world is repetitive) anyways…. just my thoughts

He said it doesn’t pay to come out with an album.
    So why did he?
Before his previous album he also kvetched that it wasn’t worth it.
Either he doesn’t mind losing money or maybe the truth is that it IS worth it after all.
Let’s be honest. No one looked at him anymore esp. after putting out some really bad sounding stuff. His previous album allowed him to make tons of money every time he sang Omar Rabbi Akiva with a choir doing the higher notes for him.
I would almost say it would pay for him to make this album available for free download. At least people will be taking him for weddings and Chabad events again. (and maybe a ‘last’ appearance at concerts for a few more years to come)
