Rabbi Zalman Dubinsky, Rosh Yeshiva of Tiferes Bachurim Morristown.

Tiferes Bachurim Marks Yohrtzeit of Beloved Teacher

Yesterday, Yud Alef Shvat, marked the 18th Yartzeit of a beloved teacher at Yeshiva Tiferes Bachurim, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Lipskier OBM.

In commemoration of the Yartziet Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Zalman Dubinsky spoke to the Yeshiva and told of his unique ability to blend high Chassidic aspirations into practical living.

“This is also the lesson of the day that the Yartziet falls out,  the 11th of Shvat, coming a day after such a charged day represents bringing the inspiration of Yud Shvat into the regular days after” Rabbi Dubinsky related.

In addition Rabbi Dubinsky told a personal moving episode where Rabbi Lipskier approached him some 35 years after a trivial event to ask Michila.  “Many of us don’t have to think back decades to find something we did wrong, we just need to think back maybe only a few minutes!  What is so inspirational about this is the fact that here was a person who took to heart every moment of life and his sensitivity to other people was truly remarkable! Certainly Rabbi Lipskier is being a Meilitz Yosher for all of us here today, let us likewise learn in his Zechus”.

Fitzy was a real mench, who got along with everybody. It was a terrible loss that night.

Years ago, when I was a student in tiferes, I remember how rabbi lip skier made a most positive impression on me, whether as an ish halocha, a chossid, a mentch, an oved, and even an easy going Rabbi who one can feel cmfortable with, crack a good joke, and really relate to his talmidim.

How lucky I was to have known such a true emeseh chossid, and how I see in many of his children this qualities!

Had I only of known about the farbrengen, I surely would have tried to attend.

May he be a Mailitz yoshar on behalf of his wife, children, family and many talmidim.

On someone of his stature we can truly say, v’hachai, yiten el libo.

I only knew Rabbi Lipsker (Fitzy) for a couple of years. He was a good leader and had a good repore with the students. I’m sure he is routing for us from Shomayim and can’t wait until Geulah comes.
