Chabad Five Towns Chosen for Allstate Grant
A Woodmere Allstate insurance agent has once again chosen to give the Chabad of the Five Towns a grant from the company.
Monte Rosenzweig, whose office is located at 999 Central Avenue in Woodmere, recently received the Agency Hands in the Community Award for his commitment to volunteering in the community, according to the Allstate Foundation. With the award came a $1,000 grant for the Friendship Circle at Chabad of the Five Towns, where Rosenzweig volunteers.
“I believe any organization that helps to enrich the lives of local children is worthwhile; especially one that works with special needs children,” he said. “The amazing thing about Friendship Circle is that it engages local teens to feel comfortable working with special needs children.
”When I attended the recent awards program of Chabad of Five Towns Friendship Circle, I was impressed to find out that there are dozens of local teens involved, each one giving of his or her time on a voluntary basis,“ he said.
The Friendship Circle extends a helping hand to families who have children with special needs, involving them in a full range of social, recreational and Jewish experiences. The program’s unique formula introduces teenage volunteers to the children, and both the children and volunteers’ lives are enriched through shared experiences.
“Monte is an active and respected member of the business community, protecting people with insurance and financial services products,” said Linda Collora, New York regional sales leader at Allstate Insurance Company. “He also makes a point of getting involved personally by dedicating his time and efforts to making a difference in people’s lives.”
