In what has become a yearly fixture, the Tmimim from across Eretz Yisroel will unite at a Shabbos Hachono in preparation for Gimmel Tammuz. At the offices of the Va’ad Talmidei Hatmimim planning and organization have already entered high gear.
The Shabbos Hachono will take place this coming Shabbos in Kfar Chabad and will be attended by Roshei Yeshivah, Mashpi’im, Shluchim and Rabbonim. The central Kinnus is expected to take place on Motzei Shabbos and will be addressed by guest Mashpi’im from around the world.
The main guest of the Shabbos will be Rabbi Ezra Shochet the Rosh Yeshivah of Ohr Elchanan – Chabad in Los Angeles, a world renowned teacher and educator.
The Va’ad expresses satisfaction with the number of Tmimim expected to participate in the Shabbos; “The experience of previous years has demonstrated that the preparations organized by the Va’ad have become an integral part of the Tmimim’s Hachono for Gimmel Tammuz. This is attested to by the yearly increase of participants, as well as the avid interest and anticipation displayed by the Tmimim in the past few weeks”.

Is it still unacceptable to mention the significant event of 3 Tammuz in “official” publications? Why this persistent allergy to calling it the Rebbe’s (TzVKLLHH) “yahrtzeit” or “yom haiyelulah”?
