Father and Son Melave Malka Attracts Large Crowd!
MIAMI, FL [CHI] — Lubavitch Elementary School’s recent Fathers and Sons Melave Malka was a testimony to the school’s growth over the past year. Over 400 people attended the annual event, which brings fathers and sons together for an evening of Torah study and inspiration.
The program paid tribute to the yeshiva students, who memorized over 5,000 lines of Tanya—the foundational book on chassidic principles—in honor of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Each student who completed his memorization quota received a newly published edition of the book of Tehillim (Psalms), designed especially for children.
The printing was sponsored by Lubavitch Educational Center parents Rabbi and Mrs. Zalman and Mimi Fellig, known for their deep commitment to Jewish education in South Florida.
Rabbi Yehuda Leib Schapiro, Rosh Yeshiva of the Yeshiva Gedolah and Rav of Beis Menachem of Miami Beach, spoke of the importance of a proper Jewish education and behavior, and how the young children purify the world through their Torah study. He was followed by a beautiful cantoral presentation by Rabbi Chazan Yossi Lebovics, who also led the gathering in song.
