Yaldei HaShluchim Farbreng Yud Shvat Via Webcam

Yud Shvat is a time for Farbrengens, kids included. It is the day of the Histalkus of the Frierdiker Rebbe, and the day that our Rebbe became Rebbe and made us who we are today.

So what happens when you’re on Shlichus and your kids don’t have who to Farbreng with? What do you do when you want your kids to feel the importance and the specialty of the day, but giving them l’chaim and singing Nigunim with them at the supper table isn’t enough?

Thanks to CYH, Chinuch Yaldei HaShluchim, founded in memory of Reb Mendel and Sara Shemtov A”H, a project of the Shluchim Office, hundreds of families and kids took part in a 10 day Hachana project which culminated in a live web rally. The rally took place on Motzei Shabbos and Sunday afternoon to accommodate the many different times zones.

Each day of the Hachana, the kids learned about another Niggun the Rebbe taught us. They watched a clip of the Rebbe singing a different Niggun and then had to answer a riddle at the end.

During the live web rally Pesukim were recited by families from all over the world. There was an interactive game and a video of Yaldei HaShluchim demonstrating ways to have Hiskashrus and preparing for Yud Shvat. The children also watched a clip of the Rebbe at a Farbrengen, singing U’Fartzta. After all, our Shluchim are spreading the light of Yiddishkeit to all far corners of the world. Of course, there was L’chaim and Tzedaka.

To end off the rally a challenge was posed to all Yaldei HaShluchim: to sing Sheyiboneh, but with the Yehi Ratzon that comes along with it. The adorable singing of a young Shliach ended the rally with a renewed strength to go out and fight the darkness with light, and bring the coming of Moshiach now!
