Road Trip! Watch out Montreal. C’est vrai!

You may know that JEM’s My Encounter with the Rebbe is a time-sensitive project. The mission is to get people who’ve had important interactions with the Rebbe in an interview on tape.

In a few short days, JEM’s My Encounter with the Rebbe team will be trekking out to Montreal to do a sweep of interviews with Chabad elders and other individuals to capture precious testimony of the Rebbe.

Baruch Hashem, in the past few years, JEM has had the zchus of conducting a handful of very important interviews in Montreal, such as the interviews with the late Rabbi Yitzchok Hendel OBM, Rabbi Moshe Eliyahu Gerlitzky OBM, Rabbi and Mrs. Hershel Feigelstock Sheyichyu and of course the late Rabbi Menachem Zev ‘Volf’ Greenglass OBM. Click here to see some of the My Encounter video interview Rabbi Hendel and Rabbi Greenglass.

Here’s where you come in: You know people in Montreal. There are so many great people in this important city and we need your info on getting to them. If you know of any individuals you think should be interviewed for the project, please email the My Encounter team at interviews@jemedia.org

  • I think I know it all

what about Reb Moshe Chaim Sapochinsky? I believe he came with the group from shangchai. he should have some good stories about the ‘early years’

  • great suggestion

JEM would do very well to interview Rabbis Benyamin Mentz, Mendel Greenbaum, Shia Wilanski, as well as others of the original American T’mimim..these men came in the beginning of the Rebbes nisiyos and their stories will be very enlightening.

  • A wealth of Chabad history

Rabbi Meir Plotkin (Rabbi Hendel’s son-in-law). It might not be easy to get him but you won’t regret it.

  • Hello!

Why are pple commenting with peoples names? Didn’t they leave an email address for that??

  • you never know who has s/g to share

for starters, community members above sixty, especially those who may have come from Europe or Russia.
There are also members of the Montreal community at large, who surely had to do with the early Chassidim. Several of them had relationships with the Rebbe.
Also, perhaps Mrs Paris, who began Free Hebrew For juniors (similar to Release Time) when she was still a girl…I wonder if she had any special kiruvim from the Rebbe concerning this…

  • Zekel reporting back to # 10

Don’t you wish he was?!?! A gutte Farbrengenish with him and the Chevra would open the vaults of JEP and launch it to new-found heights!

    Message for the JEM team:
Please reduce the mic sensitivity for people you interview. Its a little gross to hear every sound from the saliva of peoples mouth, and its even more disgusting when you hear it loud in a large room!
