MIDF Grants Start Second Cycle
Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, Chairman of Machne Israel-Lubavitch, has announced the opening of the second grant cycle of the Machne Israel Development Fund – Early Childhood Initiative.
The MIDF Early Childhood Initiative grants are generously underwritten by philanthropists Mr. and Mrs. David and Lara Slager, with the goal of promoting Jewish continuity through the development of Jewish preschools.
To apply for a grant complete the grant proposal application online at www.themidf.org. Please log in with your Merkos ID to view application and grant guidelines. The deadline for application submissions is January 15, 2011.
During the first grant cycle, MIDF awarded grants to twenty two early childhood programs. The Initiative’s second cycle will focus exclusively on startup grants for new preschools. An announcement regarding availability of seed grants for Mommy and Me programs or programs with fewer then ten children will be made at a later date.
The Merkos Chinuch Office through an advisory committee of early childhood educational professionals, shluchim and experienced preschool directors with extensive knowledge of contemporary preschool educational methodologies and managerial structures will evaluate completed applications for approval
For clarification on the start-up grants parameters, please contact Batya Lisker, Early Childhood Initiative project administrator, before submitting any application. She can be reached at 718-774-4000 extension 222 or at preschools.midf@lubavitch.com.
Machne Israel looks forward to receiving your grant proposals and extending funding to as many new preschools as possible during the second grant cycle.
