Geologist Makes Israeli Financial Leaders List

Geologist Tovia Luskin, a Chabad-Lubavitch Chasid whose Givot Olam drilling company discovered an oil field 20 km northeast of Tel Aviv, was named to Globes financial news service’s “Men of the Year” list.
“Luskin symbolizes the hysteria and enthusiasm in the gas and oil exploration industry,” concluded the report. “Over the past year, the net worth of Givot Olam reached billions of shekels.”
Luskin, who holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from Moscow State University, immigrated to Israel in 1990 from Australia, where he was a geophysical advisor for Bridge Oil in Sydney.
