Stamford Hill Farbrengs in Preparation of 19 Kislev
STAMFORD HILL, London [CHI] — It was described as rare and extraordinary. It was the second annual chassidishe Farbrengen and Melavah Malkah hosted and chaired by Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Liberow, director of the Ohr Hatorah Chassidus Library.
This Motzei Shabbos, in Stamford Hill, London, over 450 people gathered together to partake in a Farbrengen in preparation of Yud Tes Kislev.
The Farbrengen was graced with the presence of many prominent Rabonim including the Mara D’asra, Harav Hagaon R’ Efraim Padwa Shlita the Rov of London, Rabbi Moshe Landa Shlita, Av Bes Din of Bnei Brak, Dayan Levi Yitzchok Raskin Shlita, Rabbi Yitzchok Meir Hertz Shlita the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah Kingsley Way, Rabbi Yaakov Meir Rosenbaum Shlita the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Ger London, and guest speaker and Farbrenger was Harav Hagaon Rabbi Chaim Sholom Deitsch shlita, of Kollel Tzemach Tzedek, Yerushalayim.
The overflowing crowd, both from Anash and the wider Chassidic community, sat down together to a well prepared catered meal accompanied by live music. The keynote speech, delivered by Rabbi Deitsch, highlighted the importance of every single individual to learn Chassidus to enhance one’s emunas hashem, ahavas hashem and yiras hashem and to bring down the concept of hisbonenus into every day life as explained in the introduction to imrei bina from the Mitteler Rebbe.
The entire crowd joined together and sang soul stirring niggunim concluding with the Alter Rebbe’s niggun daled bovos. Immediately after, the entire hall stood up and burst out into spontaneous dancing. People were moved to tears by this ultimate expression of achdus of all Chassidic circles dancing together.
The thirst for Chassidus was evident by the amount of interest shown in the display of seforim on sale.
After benching which was long beyond midnight, Rabbi Deitsch continued to farbreng till 3:30 in the morning. Rabbi Deitsch returned to Eretz Yisroel Sunday morning, leaving the London community in very elated spirits. Many Yungerleit in the chassidishe community have now committed themselves to learn Chassidus as part of their daily schedule.
Ohr Hatorah is open every evening for the benefit of all those looking to access the world of Chassidus. The library has an extensive collection of thousands of Chassidic seforim, journals and publications and a special room in the library has been dedicated to be able to view the many thousands of hours of Farbrengens and distribution of dollars etc. Ohr Hatorah also hosts Farbrengens and shiurim regularly in its warm and friendly environment.
