The Bostoner Rebbe at a Chabad Bris

Rabbi Mendy Horowitz the Chabad Rabbi of Young Israel Randolph MA, celebrated the Bris of his newborn. The Bris was celebrated as a Chabad function with many Shluchim and over 200 community members in attendance. Rabbi Naftali Horowitz, The Bostoner Rebbe – a distant relative of Rabbi Mendy Horowitz – were among the distinguished participants.

The Bostoner Rebbe himself is a notable Mohel. However, at this Bris he came to see how the Bris ceremony is turned into a Chabad event. Rabbi Levi Heber, a Mohel from Crown Heights, performed the Bris and provided some insights to the Mitzvah of Milah.

During the Bris The Bostoner Rebbe stood at the side of the Mohel. At the conclusion he expressed his approval to the Mohel for work well done. At the Bris many attendees put on Tefillin and some were honored to hold the child. The Bostoner Rebbe told Rabbi Sholom Horowitz, the child’s grandfather, how wonderful it was to see how Chabad can take a personal simcha and turn it into a community event with the participants experiencing the joy and pride of this essential Mitzva.
