Rabbi Shemtov Farbrengs for the Vaad
On Yud Gimmel Tishrei, the Yahrtzeit of the Rebbe Maharash, a special program was arranged by the Vaad Talmidei Hatemimim for the out of town guests who have travelled to Crown Heights for the month of Tishrei. The special events took place in the Kolel throughout the 24 hours of the day.
Monday night started with a talk by Rabbi Simon Jacobson who focused on topics pertaining to the Geuloh and Moshiach. After the Shiur there was a Farbrengen with Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Zilbershtrom, the Rosh Yeshivah of Kiryat Gat.
Throughout the day on Tuesday, the Bochurim who have been participating in the Vaad’s special learning program took tests on the material they have learned during the past two weeks.
On Tuesday evening, Rabbi Yoel Kahn gave a Shiur on a Maamar of the Rebbe. The Shiur was followed by a special video of the Rebbe from Tishrei 5736 with never before seen footage. This unique video was provided by JEM.
The highlight of the evening was a Grand Farbrengen with special guests. The Bochurim sat enthralled for hours as Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov, Chairman of Agudas Chasidei Chabad and Shliach in Philadelphia, told them of the beauty & meaning of the Dor Ha’shvii. He was joined by Rabbis Ezriel Chaikin and Sholom Ber Futerfas.

I was very happy to read about Rabbi Shemtov’s leading the farbrenghen on Yud-Gimmel Tishrei. As a great elder chossid, Rabbi Shemtov has so much to give, and we have so much to receive, if we only listen.
At the heart of every chossid is the desire to be a better chossid. Sometimes, we must put aside our differences, as they say in the olam, “agree to disagree”, in order to best hear the words of an elder chossid.
