Sydney has the First Siyum Celebration in the World
As is known, Chassidim are always “Besimcha” serve G-D with joy, and even during the nine days of Menachem Av, when we mourn the destruction of the Temple, we also are to make an effort, within the limitations of “Halachah” Jewish law to be happy by making a Siyum every night until the 15th of Menachem Av and a party thereafter.
The Rebbe instructed that just like by “Erev Peasach” The eve of passover we bring even our little children who are firstborn to hear the Siyum commemorating our redemption on Passover from Egypt, how much more should this take place “Berov Am Hadras Melech” with a multitude of men, woman and children on the eve of, what we believe to be, the immanent true and complete redemption!
In the Yeshiva Centre – Chabad Headquarters of NSW, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok sheyichye Hacohen Feldman, Rosh Yeshiva of the Yeshiva Gedolah Sydney, made tonight, eve of Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av 5770 the first siyum on Tractate Makkos of the Babylonian Talmud, opening thereby the Suym celebrations around the globe!
