It is so nice to see how Rabbi Avrohom Eliyahu Plotkin is able to provide a position for his son-in-law. Being able to hire your own children is a true reward for many years of dedication and hard work! Hatzlacha in the family business!! Chassidim zeinen ain mishposhcha – just some are more mishpocha than others.

I am not sure if “Emes Mazel Brocha” is sarcastic or not. I see nothing wrong with nepotism on shlichus. Shluchim work with much self sacrifice and there is nothing wrong with expecting a position after marrying a shliach’s daughter, no different than getting some financial support from a rich shver or a job in a local mossad that your father/or/ father-in-law runs.

Must the shliach hire a stranger when his own flesh and blood are qualified?

It is true that there MIGHT be others more qualified, but the dedication to the “family business” is far greater from someone who is related and needs to answer to his father or father-in-law.

I take issue with shluchim who “save” a territory until their children grow up – that is a problem, because it is on the cheshbon of delaying servicing a ripe area – which is totally unjustified, but if it happens to be that the area is ready just when the shliach’s child needs a position – that’s wonderful hashgacha protis!

Besides, even rabbonis and other communal positions are given “b’yerusha” to qualified children, so why should shlichus be any different?

I wish these shluchim and all shluchim much hatzlacha and may they soon need to hire more of us who are waiting for a shlichus because we didn’t marry into a shliach’s family.
Indeed, in EVERY mishpocha, some are more mishpocha than others.
