Lyrics
Every Dollar I Earn

Melbourne Winter Camp 5770

Every dollar I earn, every nickel I find,
Is saved in a wallet awaiting its time.
Tishrei is coming, emotions run high,
I countdown the days to my flight.

My friends they all mock me, they can’t understand,
“Why do you shlepp to a faraway land?
Especially now, when our eyes do not see,
Vos zuchstu in 770?”

Chorus:
For it’s the holiest place,

In all of creation,
Where the shechina does rest,
In this generation.
The look of the Rebbe will touch every soul,
It’s there where a Chossid feels whole.
Rebbi lo shono,
Chiyo minayin?
For nothing has changed,
The light is still shining,
We’re told when Moshiach will finally show,
It’s there where his light will first glow.

And it’s there where Chassidim must go…

I’m not trying to be rude here, I just want to know if there is a source (sicha somewhere?) for:

    1. 770 being the “holiest place in all of creation”
    2. “Where the shechina does rest, In this generation”

ok, chill, I know it’s only a camp song. But if there is a source for that I’d like to know it.

  • question

what does this mean? and wheres the source?“Rebbi lo shono,
    Chiyo minayin”

  • To #15

If Rebbi didn’t teach it, then were does Rav Chiyo know it from? (who was the student of Rebbi) Chassidic interpretation can go anywhere with this….

    Adding to 17,

“If you are not by the Rebbe for Rosh Hashonah, From where do you have Life?”

I think its a Lovley Hartzing Song.
