Monsey Cheder Holds First 8th Grade Boys Graduation
MONSEY — This past Wednesday night, the Cheder held its first boys 8th grade graduation. Rabbi Wolowik welcomed everyone and introduced Mendel Jacobs, a talmid of 8th grade to act as MC. The MC called upon fellow talmidim Yechezkel Gross and Mendel Klein to recite the Rebbe’s and Rebetzin’s capitel tehillim.
The dean and founder of the Cheder, Rabbi Yisroel Shusterman was then called upon to read a letter of the Rebbe that was sent to graduates in 5761. He then translated the letter and shared a few emotional words of his feelings of seeing the first class of Cheder graduate.
The Moroh D’asrah of Kehilas Chabad in Monsey, Rabbi Boruch Lesches shared with the graduates some very warm and personal words on what is exoected from the talmidim as they grow up.
Mendel Krasnjanski recited a d’var Torah. Mendel Litzman represented the class in sharing what Cheder means to him and told a beautiful story about the Rebbe concerning the sensitivity the Rebbe had for the feelings of others and how we need to follow in the Rebbe’s footsteps. Noach Zeiler expressed gratitude to Cheder personnel on behalf of his class. The class then surprised their beloved Rebbe, Rabbi Yossi Soble with a gift that they bought for him for all his personal time that he invested in each talmid individually.
The Boy’s Principal, Rabbi Avrohom Wolowik and the General Studies Principal, Mrs. Simonne Nenner then distributed to all students the diplomas and a specially inscribed Tanya. A slideshow of pictures of previous years was created by Mendel Simon and showed during the event. It was a true inspirational and happy event. We wish the graduates much hatzlacha in all their endeavors!
