Shluchim Gather in Crown Heights for JLI Teens Conference

The Jewish Learning Institute’s teen division welcomed over 45 Chabad Houses around the world for their acceptance into the JLI Teens Program. On Sunday afternoon, JLI Teens affiliates gathered in Crown Heights to collaborate and train for the upcoming semesters.

“The lack of Jewish education for high school students is a huge void in the Jewish world. After Bar/Bat Mitzvah their minds are developing to the point where they start asking questions — now is the time to engage them”, says JLI Teens director Rabbi Benny Rapoport. JLI Teens pioneers dynamic and professional curriculum geared towards teenagers, making Judaism relevant and meaningful.

The evening was jam packed with sessions in pedagogy, strategies for connecting with teenagers, professional sales training, marketing/recruitment tips, and opportunities for fund-raising. After an inspirational speech by Rabbi Chaim Mentz of Bel Air, new and returning affiliates left with increased knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to engage and educate on of the most challenging demographics in Chabad Shlichus: teenagers.

  • Teens in CH

Very nice, but who’s gonna do something for our “lost” teens in our own backyard, Caan tzivos Hashem es habrocho???

Especially for those boys who don’t want to learn a whole day in the summer and are too young to work in a camp, there is absolutely nothing for them.

that’s one way to look at the positive things people do in this world. hey lighten up. it’s a dark world. at least there are some people doing good in it. it will eventually trickle down to you.
