Mendel Turk, of Cheder Lubavitch Chicago, is the first chayol to reach the rank of First Lieutenant in the Chayolei Tzivos Hashem program.
“In order for Mendel to achieve this rank, he had to complete every mission for two years. That demands a tremendous amount of commitment,” says Rabbi Shmaryohu Weinbaum, director of Chayolei Tzivos Hashem. “To me this is the Rebbe’s dream coming true. I’m sure it is giving the Rebbe much Nachas.”
He has already completed hundreds of missions, including Chazerring Tanya Baal Peh, saying Tehillim on Shabbos Mevorchim, doing Mivtzoim and celebrating Yoma Depagro.
“We are very proud of our son, Mendel, for reaching such a milestone,” said Rabbi and Mrs Pinchus and Dina Turk. “As parents we are very grateful to Tzivos Hashem for arranging such a meaningful program, which enables us to see such Nachas as we watch our children “osvacksen chassidishe soldaten.”
The program has already seen tremendous success worldwide. “Since the inception, of Chayalei Tzivos Hashem, our children have been living and breathing missions to complete,” says Rabbi Zalman Twersky, Principal of Cheder Lubavitch Chicago. “This leads them to a goal of following in the Rebbe’s footsteps, living like real Chassidim. Many thanks to Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, Rabbi Yerachmiel Bejaminson of Tzivos Hashem and Rabbi Shaya Smetana of anash.com for all they have done to make this program a reality.”
Mendel himself is enjoying the affects of the program, “Thank you to the Rebbe’s vision in starting Tzivos Hashem, I have improved my Middos, strengthened my Hiskashrus and have learned to be more productive in my free time,” he says.
Mendel is not alone in his progression. Thousands of children are climbing in rank each month. It won’t be long until he shares the rank of First Lieutenant with many other hard working Chayolim.
