You got to vote for the greatest couple, Shevy and Dovi Oliver. They are doing great work.

The federation just wants all these email addresses. The joke is on the heroes. They are giving them a crazy bargain for $1000

    100% TRUE!!

and what could be a more corrupt organization than the Jewish Federation of Rockland… they truly go against the Torah in their programs. SAD.

how about the concept of community building? Isn’t that worth something?

The Federation isn’t “collecting” emails for the sake of collecting and spamming them. They have a good plan to engage those individuals who checked off areas of Jewish interest when they voted. It’s a very smart way to get voters more active in the Rockland Jewish community. PLUS it shines a spotlight on the work the heroes are doing and it will drum up support and interdenominational partnership. For example, Sara Fuerst sends care packages to Jewish troops in the US Army…she is very grateful for the exposure to her program and does not consider this a joke at all. Keep your snide comments to yourself.

    Dear Friend

You imply that “nothing can be more corrupt than the Jewish Federation of Rockland” – I believe (according to the Torah) – that qualifies as Motzee Shem Rah or Lashon Hara – which is equivalent to destroying the world. Ask your Rav and then do some tshuva. You also say that “they truly go against the Torah in their programs”. All their programs are strictly kosher and sensitive to Shmirat Shabbat and the Chaggim – so if you want to participate and/or volunteer you can feel comfortable. One thing the Federation does not do is to spread Lashon Hara. The Federation exists to help Jews all around the world. The Federation has helped the most religious Jews in Rockland (resettling Yemini Jews in the Satmar community)and has reached out to the most unaffiliated Jews in Rockland. Perhaps this is a good opportunity to ask yourself – What have I done for the Jewish community of Rockland lately? I wish you Hatzlocha

  • oy... the Fed

Not loshon hara. Should corruption be allowed to carry on unexposed, especially under the guise of Tzedakah?

resettling Yemini Jews in the Satmar community…

bad example. do the research. a sad one.

All their programs are strictly kosher and sensitive to Shmirat Shabbat and the Chaggim

not true. ex. use of microphones, reform temples

and has reached out to the most unaffiliated Jews in Rockland

how? besides for pledges. Chabad reaches these Jews more effectively with 1/10th the budget

Look at what the Joint (aka Federations) did during WWII to Orthodox Jews, esp. Lubavs

While YYS comments might not be eloquent, they bear some weight.
