Father and Son Melave Malka at Cheder at the Ohel

It was a beautiful sight to behold, all the fathers learning a Sicha with their sons. Cheder at the Ohel had a father and son Melave Malka, where fathers and sons alike were inspired and enjoyed.

The program began with a video of the Rebbe speaking about chinuch of our children. Then the fathers learned with their sons a sicha of the Rebbe to Tzivos Hashem, about the three pesukim that Mordechai heard from the children as they were going home from Cheder; it gave him the strength he needed to overcome Haman.

The Rebbe explained to the children how to relate Mordechai’s inspiration to their personal struggles with defeating their own yetzer horas. Some families joined together to learn the sicha, making it a beautiful symbol of achdus.

Following the learning, Rabbi Levi Zarchi, Executive Director of the Cheder, shared inspirational words about chinuch, followed by a 4th grade student Levi Shemtov, who said a story of the Baal Shem Tov and spoke about how much he is progressing in Cheder. Thereafter, Mr. Menachem Rosenzweig, a parent, spoke about how his sons are so sad when Cheder is canceled due to a snow storm. Even though each class has a conference call to replace the learning in Cheder, the boys would rather come to Cheder in person.

The program continued with refreshments and a grand Chodesh Adar game show. The game was arranged by Rabbi Meir Geisinsky, a parent, and Youth Director at Chabad of the Five Towns.

We wish to inform everyone that there is a weekly minyan every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Shul (behind the Mikvah house, to the right) followed by a “Breakfast & Learn.”

Cheder at the Ohel also has a nice hall available for small simchas to be arranged near the Ohel.
