ULYOP in a League of their Own

Probably one of the best organized Yeshiva intramural leagues in Brooklyn is ULYOP’s LubaSfard Soccer league under the Reb. Shmuel Shrage Middos banner. Not only does the league empower students to be team captains and coaches but also gives them a sence team work. Besides learning interpersonal skills, they have to know Hallacha as well!

Teams Poltava, Rostov, Halab, and Yerushalayim… battle it out on the custom indoor soccer court as well as in the Beis Hamedresh! Defending there teams in a bimonthly Halacha Bee in areas of tefilah, yomim tovim, Kovod ha Torah, and Kivod Av v Am. This week with teams so close, the Hallacha Bee may be the deciding factor of who goes on to the playoffs and up coming championships. The talmidim learn so much from the leagues and really develop amazing character traits (Middos tovos). As a positive side effect the Leagues incorporates Teamwork, Responsibility, Self confidence Leadership skills, Middos, Jewish history and a connection to cities of jewish / chassidish significance, communication skills as well as a safe fun and healthy outlet from a long day of learning in class.

Thank you Rabbi Harari and ULY for interspersing Sports into the school day. It is well known that physical activity helps give energy in learning. This actually teaches Ahavas Yisroel and it gives the boys what to look forward to; Keep up the great work!!

  • SPELLING BEFORE YOU SUBMIT - ULY OP STAF

Mazal Tov. As an old Talmid I love the NEW front doors and steps. However you as a school should check the spelling before it is printed here. Best regards and keep up the good work. I spent my best years at Ocean Parkway. I remember the food we got when we were stuck in the dorm for Shabbos from Rabbi Kornblitt. Will come to visit soon.
