Yeshiva Gedolah of New Haven Learns Tanya Baal Peh

Students of the Yeshiva Gedolah of New Haven learned chapters of Tanya by heart for a program begun by Rabbi Mordechai and Mrs. Shterney Kanelsky, of the Bris Avrohom Center in Hillside, NJ.

This program was held in conjunction with the seventh Yahrezeit of their dear daughter, Bat Sheva, on the 10th of Adar.

The Bas Sheva Mitzvah Campaign to Greet Moshiach recognizes boys who learn Tanya bal peh and rewards them with a certificate, a book of Tanya and a monetary stipend based on how much was learned.

The boys were tested on all the chapters they had learned, in one sitting, to prove their knowledge.

Since its inception, hundreds of boys have participated in this program and earned well deserved gifts for their efforts.

Pictured with the participating students is Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yosef Lustig.
