MBCM Celebrates its 2nd Annual Dinner

MONSEY, NY [CHI] — More than 200 supporters of Monsey Beis Chaya Mushka High School for Girls gathered at the Paradise Hall in Monsey for its second annual dinner last night on the auspicious day of Chof Daled Teves, which marks the passing of the Alter Rebbe.

The evening began with a presentation by world renowned artist Morris Katz painting various pieces which were sold throughout the dinner. In honor of Chof Daled Teves a Tanya was then printed which was preceded by a short lesson of perek lamed beis of Tanya by the Rav of the Monsey Chabad community, Rabbi Boruch D. Lesches.

The Parents of the Year award was presented to the Shluchim to Cornell University, Rabbi Eli and Dr. Chana Silberstein. Rabbi Silberstein spoke of the unique high level of education that the girls are lucky to receive from the exceptional staff of Monsey Beis Chaya Mushka. He credited this and the warm environment of the school to the dynamic leadership of Rabbi Dr. Chaim Dovid Kagan, the founder and director of Beis Chaya Mushka.

The Avodas HaKadosh award was presented to Dr’s. Alex and Leah Poltorak longtime supporters of the various Chabad mosdos in Monsey. Dr. Poltorak highlighted the fact that in addition to a highly academic limudei kodesh curriculum the school offers a serious general education program including a strong emphasis on science from the Torah perspective.

Throughout the evening the crowd enjoyed the beautiful singing of new singing sensation Benny Friedman.
