Tzivos Hashems 29th Annual Dinner

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Marking its entry into its 30th year, Tzivos Hashem hosted its 29th Annual Anniversary Dinner marking nearly 30 years of innovative Jewish education which was celebrated last night in the Jewish Childrens Museum in Crown Heights, where over 300 members and supporters all gathered for an evening to benefit this great organization.

As the night progressed the crowd gathered on the 2nd floor for the awards ceremony. The Mendelsohn family was awarded as the guests of honor, in memory of their dear mother Rochel Leah OBM, the Tzivos Hashem Memorial Award was given to Reb Gedaliah Shaffer OBM who was a staunch supporter and friend of Tzivos Hashem, his wife Bronya accepted the award along with the rest of the Shaffer family.

The Man of the Year award was presented to Shmuly (Sam) Axelrod for all of his work on behalf of the young leadership of Tzivos Hashem. Also honored was the dinner Chairman Heshy Kornblit.

The power of Children Award was given to 12 year old Shmuly Lax, who is a proud member of Tzivos Hashem from Boro Park, for his love of the Mitzvah of Bikur Cholim which he does every Shabbos at the Maimonides Hospital near his home.

Following the awards ceremony the crowd was treated to a hilarious entertainer, Marc Weiner, a comedian and puppeteer as well as the creator and producer of the hilarious skit “from MTA to Mikvahs, K-mart to Kabbalah”.
