Chabad of the Valley Gala Hakhel Banquet
Chabad of the Valley marked its 36th anniversary with a Gala “Hakhel” Banquet Monday June 8th honoring the Rebbe‚s Shluchim worldwide. A special tribute was made to fellow Shluchim, Rabbi Gaby and Rivkah Holtzberg ob’m, brutally slain in the Mumbai Massacre, Al Kiddush Hashem.
Words of thanks and inspiration were delivered by Rabbi Yehoshua B. Gordon as well as Rabbi Mordechai Einbinder. Robert Cait, one of the evening‚s chairpersons and well known comedian and voice-over star also offered words of greeting.
A powerful, yet inspirational tribute was delivered by the 14 year old angelic Troye Sivan who captured the hearts and soul of the nearly 500 people present and there was not a dry eye in the house. Troye‚s emotionally charged musical tribute was followed by a moving talk delivered by Rebbetzin Deborah Gordon, whose granddaughter is named for Rivkah Holtzberg, ob‚m.
