There is always a special feeling of achdus that surrounds a painful tragedy. Jews come together to support each other in times of need with unconditional love and genuine empathy. As time moves — shock and grief slowly fading — this feeling of unity often dissipates.

But not this time.

It was only a short while ago, that tragedy struck yet again, with the sudden passing of Levi Yitzchok Wolowik, the beloved son of Rabbi Zalman and Chanie Wolowik, Shluchim to the Five Towns. All Chassidim felt the loss close to heart, and came together with an outpouring of support, love, and compassion. The achdus that was felt at the time of the loss will not vanish – it is being concretized, solidified, and preserved through the writing of a worldwide Sefer Torah.

The Sefer Torah in loving Memory of Levi Yitzchok A”H is a project that encompasses children around the world. Children are active participants in the campaign through obtaining sponsorships for learning baal peh in Levi’s Memory. Every child is an integral part of bringing the torah to completion, and thus Levi’s memory will forever be a part of Klal Yisroel. Levi’s Sefer Torah epitomizes Hakhel – the unification of all Jews, through the essence of our nation – the Torah.

The Sefer Torah was started in the home of Levi Yitzchok A”H, and will IYH be completed in time for the Kinus Tzeirei HaShluchim. Coordinated by MyShliAch and Tzivos Hashem at the request of the Wolowik family, the campaign has been launched in various schools this week and amongst the Tzeirei HaShluchim. In addition, the website allows for independent participation from children and sponsors.

Please visit LevisTorah.com to see how you can get involved and encourage your family and friends to join the effort of completing Levi’s Sefer Torah. With the achdus displayed through the Sefer Torah campaign, may we merit the ultimate redemption of the Geulah with Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
