Chabad Takes Initiative Forming Security Commission

The following letter has been sent to all Shluchim of the Rebbe worldwide:

Dear Shluchim שיחיו!

In light of recent events Shluchim the world over have been focusing more attention on matters of security.

In order to guide and assist Shluchim and Mosdos in this regard, we have formed the Chabad-Lubavitch Security Commission (CLSC). The Commission, with the assistance of professionals who are familiar with security/anti-terror measures, will distribute relevant information to Shluchim, as well as make recommendations which can be adapted and implemented locally by Shluchim.

During the past months, the abovementioned Commission has had several meetings and communications with leading members of the United States Department of State, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and various private security companies. They all agree that an essential element regarding security is to assure proper and unencumbered channels of communication. This will help facilitate the gathering of information, assessing potential threats and taking appropriate immediate action etc.

As such, both the State Department and the FBI have said they will be available 24/7, and asked that if there are any incidents or suspicious activities which appear to be “irregular”, that information should be immediately sent to the aforementioned Commission’s attention. They will in turn forward the information to the proper agencies and authorities, wherever they may be, around the world.

The most expeditious way to contact the Commission is to send an email to: security@lubavitch.com or by calling the security hotline at: 1 718-887-8539. Of course, it is imperative that you also communicate such incidents or threats to your local authorities as well.

With absolute bitochon הנה לא ינום ולא ישן שומר ישראל ה’ שומרך וגו.

Did you get permission to publicize this?! It may NOT be in the best interests of shluchim to have this information all over the net, INCLUDING the hotline number!
