BROOKLYN, NY [CHI] — Over 700 people filled the Manhattan Beach Jewish Center on Motzoei Shabbos Chanukah, for a kinus achdus arranged by over 20 shluchim from the South Brooklyn area, and a fundraiser to the Mumbai terror victims families.
After lighting the Menorah, Chazan Yehoshua Samuels sang Haneiros Hallalu, accompanies by famous pianist Israel Edelson.
Spark Boys Choir Perform at Fundraiser with MBD
BROOKLYN, NY [CHI] — Over 700 people filled the Manhattan Beach Jewish Center on Motzoei Shabbos Chanukah, for a kinus achdus arranged by over 20 shluchim from the South Brooklyn area, and a fundraiser to the Mumbai terror victims families.
After lighting the Menorah, Chazan Yehoshua Samuels sang Haneiros Hallalu, accompanies by famous pianist Israel Edelson.
Followed by the Center’s own cantor Pinchas Cohen who sang V’liYerushalayim.
Also performing was Moshe Benasher, singing his haunting “Fallen angels” which he composed in the days following the horrific attacks at the Mumbai Chabad Center.
Danny Finkelman and the Sparks, a boys choir from Crown Heights, performed their latest hits.
R’ Yehuda Holtzberg, cousin of Gavriel HY”D, spoke movingly of his memories of his beloved cousin, telling stories of how Gavriel was not only a brilliant student, he was exceptionally kind to others, from a young age.
Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Director of the Lubavitch Youth Organization, addressed the crowd.
The highlight of the evening was a spirited performance by Yeedle followed by his father, Mordechai Ben David.
The event was produced by the MBJC’s Rabbi Danny Finkelman and Shliach Rabbi Chaim Brikman of Chabad of Seagate.
