ORACLE, AZ [CHI] — At a camp for Shluchim’s kids in Oracle, Arizona, children are enjoying ten days of friendship and fun with their friends from all over the world. Usually students in virtual classrooms, the camp provides ten days of the company of friends their own age.
At a camp for Shluchim kids in Oracle, Arizona, children are enjoying ten days of friendship and fun with their friends from all over the world. The boys hail from places around the globe, such as Reno, Nevada, Temecula, CA, Barranquilla, Colombia;, Tulsa, Oklahoma; S. Paulo, Brazil; and Memphis, Tennessee – to name a few.
The camp provides a welcome break for those children who live in locations where no suitable Jewish school system exists, so their studies take place in the Shluchim Online School. Learning in virtual classrooms, with schoolmates in other states, sometimes even different countries, can get lonely. The winter camp gives the children time to enjoy the company of friends their own age.
The group enjoyed a public outdoor Menorah lighting in Tucson, lit by Rabbi Yossie Shemtov, shliach. The lighting was followed by the boys singing haneiros hallalu and a spontaneous dance to the song ‘Shluchei Adoneinu.”
The group also took part in the Global web hakhel rally, uniting with thousands of children from around the world.
Other activities included mountain hiking, sports and bowling.
